Sometimes it's the smallest things ...
After the disappointing (lack of) response from the "help desk" on a number of issues -- I mean, even something that presumably a business would be interested in, for example, interest in their cd pressing service -- that DMusic magic started to go away.
I tried to call up the winds of change. Didn't work. Like the 2nd punchline to the Zen hot dog vendor joke, change must come from within.
Tomorrow, Dec 19th, my subscription to DMusic expires. I'm not renewing. If they want supporters, they might consider not driving the old ones away.
That meant, of course, my file limit would go back down to 75 Mb. I posted four full albums here, and was on the verge of more. Today, however, I deleted all of them. Sometimes you have to throw it all out the window and start over.
But life is short. My music time is compressed into a few brief hours at the end of the day, a narrow passage between the whirlpool of the workday and the rocky shoreline of responsibilities. In order to survive, in order to thrive, I have to pick and choose -- where will my time be most effectively spent?
Hmm.
Now, I've met some great people here, and there are musicians I will continue to follow. Maybe I'll post some experimental work here from time to time.
But today was Zero, Z day, 0 Mb. It's all gone. What's past is prologue. Time to activate that Krell machine and go back to the dream.

Into the twilight,
hearing the wind of distant planets,
submerged in the mad changing ocean,
the crystalline instant, the verge,
the edge, the ends of the Earth....

Launching the browser,
I clicked on my home link.
Thought I'd check in
and see who had wrote.
Much to my horror
my page, it was missing.
Must have been riding
the Mesektet Boat.
Where, oh where,
are you tonight?
Why did you leave me
here all alone?
I searched the 'net over
and set up my home page.
One SQL error and *PHBBBLTTHT* you were gone!

How many lightyears to Z'ha'dum?
Three-score thousand and ten.
Can I get there by jumpgate flight?
Yes, there and back again.
If your ships are nimble and light,
You may get there by jumpgate flight.
